Major Moscow's Assaults Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have caused power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced problems to drinking water, according to local authorities.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in providing air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were working to restore power.

A series of attacks struck energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes overnight. A young boy lost their life and three other people were hurt.

The strikes follow periods of air raids in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the national power system, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
